World's most bizarre film!

On Saturday night Slaplore, Xff, TallWolf, FrecklesFly and I got together and watched two movies - "Hostel" and "Pink Flamingos". Both films did not impress me, but this post is going to focus on "Pink Flamingos" I am pretty sure if you have already viewed the image for the film you have a good idea that this film is the most retarded movie ever made on Earth. For Hostel, find out what happens yourself...

Xff explained that Pink Flamingos was on the top ten most popular film (hopefully I said that correctly) so we all relaxed and started watching the movie even though we knew it was made in 1972. It was totally f#@*ed up right from the beginning to the end - I mean for every second nothing was normal!

If you and a bunch of your friends are bored and want something bizarre, I recommend chipping in and getting this movie for a night. I guarantee you 108 minutes of the most f#@*ed up minutes of your life spent watching the tube!

Feel free to share your comments if you saw that movie or after you get a chance to watch it! Another f#@*ed up thing about this film is the director has a tattooed moustache.

Run out of gas to save money!

According to CNN.com drivers mainly in California have started running out of gas on purpose. I did not know that people who ran out of gas were entitled to a free gallon of gas - that is so silly! The tow truck should just stop by and pick the gas starved automobile and tow it to the nearest gas station and bill the driver for the towing service.

Since my car runs about 36 miles for every gallon in the tank, I would consider this option if I had plenty of time to wait for a tow truck to come and supply the free gallon, but once again, it is best to use the public transportation services whenever possible.

flatulence-free beans

Something new - now everyone can breathe easily when dining on beans. When the fart-free beans come out, we will no longer see young kids putting their hands formed as a "five" with their thumb touching their forehead anymore. :)

The battle against the "Oral Crusaders":

My friend, slaplore forwarded the link to an article on www.deafdc.com's blog. This article titled "Gallaudet's Poop Rally" certainly raised some issues that I have been struggling with. This article made me think more of my thoughts and thought I would try to express my thoughts.

First, I am not a big supporter of oralism. In fact I think the people who support oralism have some kind of crusade against Deaf culture. The infamous phone inventor, Alexander G. Bell's influence towards Deaf people and their culture still remains to this day, maybe even making more impact today than any previous time. It is very obvious that there are other people other than myself who see this and have become concerned. So literally the "Oral Crusade" against Deaf culture began when Alexander G. Bell founded the Alexander G. Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Now, we, the Deaf people need to become united and develop one common objective, agree and work on the same strategy to dampen the "oral crusade" against Deaf people. The last thing Deaf people need is to become divided. One strategy the "Oral Crusade" calls for is to "isolate deaf people". To fight against the "Oral Crusaders" we need to become united and develop strategies that do not further reinforce the "Oral Crusaders'" objectives. Dividing ourselves instead of becoming united is not a strategy Deaf people should use.

What happened at Gallaudet during this weekend actually reinforced the "Oral Crusaders'" cause by dividing the Deaf community into two different groups; 1) the Deaf people, and 2) the deaf people. Now the Deaf community may have lost a good number of support from the deaf people group. We need to work together, thus accepting the fact that there are deaf people who come from schools operated by the "Oral Crusaders" that acknowledge that there Deaf culture exists and wants to be part and support this culture or community.

The point of this post is... Deaf people need to develop some kind of outreach program that reaches out to every single Deaf and deaf person with a strategy that unties us all from the "Oral Crusaders" without alienating our own Deaf people and hearing people who support our culture. And lastly, those kids at Gallaudet may recognize the fact that there is a Crusade against Deaf people and their culture, but they came up with the dumbest strategy to fight against the "Oral Crusaders".

Tara Rose McAvoy

I was skimming through the April 10th Issue of Maclean's (a Canadian magazine similar to America's Time magazine) and was surpised to find one full page at the back of the magazine dedicated to Tara Rose McAvoy, aka the Miss Deaf Texan who was struck and killed by a train.

I scanned the page for you, I was pretty impressed with the author of the article because she did not focus only on how Tara died, prett much one-sixth of the article talks about how she died, unlike a lot of America media that spent most of their articles focusing on how she died.

What do turtles and honeybees have in common?

They are both deaf. (432)

BlyssPluss:

BlyssPluss is the future! Let's work on BlyssPluss and make it a reality. Not for the destruction of humankind, but the improvement of the Deaf population.

What is BlyssPluss? Where did BlyssPluss come from? How does BlyssPluss work? Who designed BlyssPluss? Why was BlyssPluss designed? The ultimate answer lies with Margaret Atwood's "Oryx and Crake".

Time for a cup of Happicuppa and ChickieNobs while playing Extinctathon. :)

www.GasBuddy.com

I am pretty sure a lot of my friends are starting to grumble and spat about the rising fuel prices. In fact I am probably one of the few people who support rising gas prices. I am guessing you are already thinking * wtf * - allow me to explain my point of view. We have become accustomed to the automobile as an everyday necessity when the ordinary automobile is not an everyday necessity.

We need to learn to organize and develop communities that are within walking distance to stores and jobs. For more frequent traveling needs, we need better public transportation systems, when I say "better" I mean their system needs to be more logical, comfortable, enjoyable, and probably most of all, affordable and reasonable.

I think the only mode of transportation that can be deemed as personal transportation are the industrial vehicles such as 18-wheeler transport trucks, construction and service vehicles along with public transportation buses. Is it really necessary to have our own vehicles? If there were no automobiles, our public transportation system probably would be near perfection by now.

What made me support rising fuel prices in the first place? In Europe, I was very impressed by the public transportation system in almost every country. It was very easy to get to almost every location we wanted to get to, except for Pont-du-Gard and Croatia.
I hope my first car I own will also be my last car I own.

Anyways, for those who drive, www.gasbuddy.com may become your best tool in the upcoming future. I have become an member and whenever I have time I'll submit gas prices and the website has a Fuel Logbook tool that helps you figure your automobile fuel usage and mileage and there are some tips on how to save fuel.

New RIT ID Card:

Got an email from RIT informing me about the new design for RIT's new ID cards. I wonder if students and faculty will be required to wear their ID card somewhere visible because they are designed vertically.

Childhood memories...

Lately, I have been sorting through everything I have at my parents home to see what I want to keep and what to throw / give away.

Found my old awards from my elementary school, high school, camps and sport events.

I found the best award from Robarts School so the world can see how pathetic my school was, and probably is. I am not sure what caused my school to be pathetic, the hearing people in the administration or the Ontario government.

Either way, here is proof (and fyi, the subject I hated the most was math).

Another thing about the awards from Robarts School and the Provincial School tournaments is that most of them do not come with any dates!

It is now illegal to walk!

"Woman Ticketed For Crossing Road Too Slowly"

Yesterday was watching the news and the most bizarre thing the police could do is give out tickets to people who are crossing the roads too slowly; especially when a road has five lanes!

Maybe fast-food joints and beverages that are high in concentration of high fructose corn syrup are not the cause of America's obesity problem - the problem is no one really walks as much as people did in the past.

If you haven't noticed, click on the title and you will be sent to the walking ticket news article.

I have decided to make oneninefive.blogspot.com no longer accessible to Internet Explorer users after reviewing my shinystats and finding out that the majority of people who view my blog use Internet Explorer.

The reason why I do not support Internet Explorer is because Microsoft bundles it with their Operating Systems (Windows) thus people do not realize that there are other (and probably better) browsers available. I am aware that other people use other browsers other than firefox and I have no problem with this.

Let's work together and BOYCOTT Microsoft's Internet Explorer. :)

Within a few weeks I hope to see my stats change and have my blog viewed with no (or less) users using Internet Explorer.

Go on, give it a test, copy n' paste http://oneninefive.blogspot.com into Internet Explorer if you do not use IE and let me know what you think of it or if you find flaws/errors or suggestions on improving my codes.

New York City, here I come!

Last week, I got a package from Citigroup with an eleven week job offer. I was hoping to get something from the other companies that I had interviews with before making a final decision to accept the job offer. It seems like Citigroup's offer is the only one so I am proceeding with their offer.

I am not quite sure what I will be doing, but my job is related to product and price analysis. It will be for the Citigroup Corporate Investment Banking group, but if you are aware of the bank, Citibank, you probably already connected my job to that bank.

I am just hoping I still have the job because the job offer letter came with approximately 25 forms for me to fill out, but they wanted the job acceptance letter signed and sent within five days, and I got back from my interview week in Rochester two days after the letter arrived, and I did not have time to review everything before accepting it and the acceptance letter was some where in the middle of the pile of forms and at the very bottom it said the offer expires on the fifth day of the date signed on the job offer letter and I had the acceptance letter sent back 3 days past the due date.

So what does this mean? It means I am currently looking for a place to live in New York City, I am hoping to find something with a reasonable weekly or monthly price near or within Manhattan so I can ditch my car and not have to worry about driving and live with the tube and other public transportation systems.

And this also means I will be once again bidding adieu to Canada, but do not worry I will always remain loyal to Canada and not become an American patriot.

If anyone knows of someone who lives in Manhattan and needs a roommate, let me know.

Drug Cartels:

It is probably internationally known for America's strong stance against illicit drug trafficking. I came up with an article about Cuba's war against drugs and according to Cuba's drug enforcemnt organization, their islands are used as remote drop-offs for boats to pick them up and take them to Florida to be sold on the streets.

Since America has a strong stand against drugs, I thought it would be local and in America's best interest to collaborate with Cuba's drug agents to prevent drugs from entering Florida. Apparently this article shows that America is willing to scarafice its war against drug by refusing to work with Cuba.

Also I thought it would be interesting to point out the fact that the US government has assigned more agents to catch Americans illegally going to Cuba than there are assigned to finding Osama bin Laden.

Computer Doctor:

During the last couple of days I kept my self busy trying to figure out why this computer was not loading up Windows XP Pro. The problem was the screen kept on showing the company's logo (HP) with a blue background colour. I tried the start-up boot up disk to see if it would do anything, but nothing changed.

I decided to check the harddrive on my computer and it was fine so the harddrive was not the cause of the problem, but I noticed there was a lot of dust inside the tower so I decided to disassemble the entire computer and clean each piece, wire and put them all back together.

The most dusty part of the computer was the processor, dust was every where and stuck between the cooling rods. I used a brush to clean out the processor and dust kept on blowing everywhere!

After the parts were cleaned up (the picture(s) was actually taken in case I could not remember which wire/part went where), I started the computer with my sister's harddrive in because she wanted me to check to see if it still worked. The computer started up with the same HP logo and blue background, but later it started loading Windows ME so it meant things were working fine. I switched my sister's harddrive for the original harddrive and it started up with no problem.

Strange eh? The problem was just the dust, I put the computer back together exactly the way it was before I took it apart.

Anyways, have a good weekend, I probably will be away from the computer entertaining friends coming over tonight and tomorrow.
