It is probably internationally known for America's strong stance against illicit drug trafficking. I came up with an article about Cuba's war against drugs and according to Cuba's drug enforcemnt organization, their islands are used as remote drop-offs for boats to pick them up and take them to Florida to be sold on the streets.
Since America has a strong stand against drugs, I thought it would be local and in America's best interest to collaborate with Cuba's drug agents to prevent drugs from entering Florida. Apparently this article shows that America is willing to scarafice its war against drug by refusing to work with Cuba.
Also I thought it would be interesting to point out the fact that the US government has assigned more agents to catch Americans illegally going to Cuba than there are assigned to finding Osama bin Laden.
