Tint Window and the Long Arm of the Law!

A while ago, Buzzair asked me about my tint and the law in New York State. My car is from Ontario and my parents paid for my tint windows for my birthday gift. When I went in to get my windows tinted, I still had my Ontario plate.

I requested tint to be put on all my windows (of course, not the windshield) and I selected a shade that only allowed eight percent of light through. The worker explained that it was illegal for any shade below seventy-nine percent to be put on the driver and passenger windows. I told the worker that it is allowed in Ontario and I am driving a car from Ontario.

The employee took out a book that obviously explained all the laws on tint for every state and could not find any information on laws that apply to Ontario so he made me sign a waiver form so the company is not liable for encouraging people to break the law or something.

Later I had to transfer my automobile registration to NYS for insurance reasons due to me obtaining permanent employment for more than six months.

Up to today, I have been pulled over by the friggin police four times for my tinted windows.

Now that I moved back home, I have been busy sorting through some stuff and trying to eliminate as much shit as I can. One of the shits I found in my plastic bag that I used to collect stuff that I needed to sort through from my car was a note from the very last time I was pulled over by the police for the tint window.

Read what the officer wrote down.

I never realized what kind of paper he used to write on until today when I looked at the back, he even pointed out the actual code I was violating! Now I wonder if each long arm of the law drives with an automobile that has a photocopy machine!

My brother sent me this url. Found it interesting that someone figured a way to start from the bottom and trade his way up. His goal is to trade his way up to getting his own house.

Within this blog, there was a post related to Canadian coins. This person has problems with the Queen of England's face being on the Canadian coins and has started a petition to get her face removed from the Canadian coins.

Stumbled up onto this website, one of my personal goals is to cycle across Canada, but walking?  That's another possible thing I would enjoy doing.  Much better than those diet pills and crash diets.

Idle times:

It has been almost one week since I got back from Rochester. During the last few days I spent time updating my resume, getting some letters of references and I have made arrangements for an interview and job fair in Rochester between March 27 - 29. Then it'll be FrecklesFly's birthday. So that will be the next time I am in Rochester.

Other things I did was send my info to CIBC, stopped at my bank to deal with some stuff, and I decided to stop by the library to get some books on doing business online.

I stumbled upon something interesting...

A wooden carving of Thomas Ingersoll, the founder of Ingersoll. The description of Ingersoll's history stated that Thomas Ingesoll fleed to Canada (formerly called British North America) from Massachusetts after the Revolutionary War and founded the town "Oxford-on-the-Thames".

His daughter was one of the people who alerted the British of the Americans planning an invanison during the beginning of the War of 1812.

His son renamed "Oxford-on-the-Thames" to "Ingersoll" in honour of Thomas Ingersoll.

That is how valuable idle time is!

Now that is some information about a tiny pointless town that I grew up. :)

Spring Break: Part III

For the remaining time of my spring break, I spent most of the time at FrecklesFly's new apartment. She lives on a great street and it is located near the plaza where California Rollings is located at, she also lives near Alexander Ave.

I finally headed back home on Monday, I started thinking that I had not moved out of Rochester.

Spring Break: Part II

We arrived at Gore Mt. around 1 pm, one hour later than we planned on meeting and xff was already skiing, FrecklesFly and I went in and tried to get two lift passes for free with her Access Pass, but they refused so she got one free ticket and by the time we found xff and got snow shoes, it was almost 3 pm.

FrecklesFly did not want to go snowboarding so I used her free lift pass and did one run down Gore Mt. with xff.

After that, we headed to Lake Placid and found our hostel (High Peaks Hostel) just as we were entering the town. We signed in and our rooms were not ready so xff decided to show us a great pizzeria. The pizza we had was very delicous, we went back to our hostel and got settled in. We all got into reading books that the hostel provided.

Tuesday we had our breakfast at the hostel (included) which was intersting. Cornbread and oatmeal cereal with honey and jams.

We headed to Whiteface Mt. to snowboard they refused to give an extra lift pass so I ended up having to pay for the lift pass. During our first run down the hill we went to the very top. The snow was very different than Gore Mt. and the slope was very steep. FrecklesFly took some big falls and ended up hurting her tailbone so she was out for the rest of the afternoon.

We got together for lunch and cooked some pasta on xff's camp stove and got some people giving us thumbs up for cooking our own food. After lunch, we made several runs then xff realized his keys were missing so we had to look around for the keys.

Lucky someone found them and turned them in at the ticket counter. After that we headed back to our hostel, but first stopped by the High Gores Falls to see if we could walk along the falls, but it was open. We cooked dinner at the hostel and bid adieu to xff as he had to get home to provide manly support to London when he came home as a testicle-less dog.

The next day, we got up and FrecklesFly's tailbone was still very sore and stiff so we decided to look around Lake Placid and look around in the shops, but we had to wait until 11 am for the stores to open.

We decided to kill time by going to the High Gores Falls and it was a nice simple walk around the gores. We could not see a lot of water because there was a lot of ice covering the river and falls, but it was fun being out there.

After that, we looked through some stores before heading back to Rochester.

Spring Break: Part I

Here I finally have some time to eSocialize with my friends here.

After my Oma's funeral, I headed to Boston, Massachusetts to visit Bro. 181, his finance and young knight and other bros of the New England gang. But on the way to Boston, I stopped in Rochester to meet up with FrecklesFly and was too tired to drive all night so we stayed for the night, and got up at 3 am on Saturday and headed for Boston.

We got there at noon and got together and ended up going to the Quincy Market for lunch with 181, his finance and young knight. We headed back, hanged out and had some drinks, chatted till it was time for dinner and had dinner. Matt Hochkeppel also stopped by and commanded 181's finance to cook dinner for him and he talked so much about politics, we were afraid he would smash up the glass dining table!

Everyone was pretty much tired from an early day (us driving to Boston and them getting up to take care of the young knight).

Sunday was the day for the wedding meeting, the New England gang arrived very late, except for Matt Hochkeppel who came on time. Finally the rest arrived and we discussed plans for the 20th Feast, then focused on the wedding and the meeting was over very late so we ended up having a very late dinner, but dinner was delicous.

Monday, we got up said our farewells before hitting the road...

...to be continued.

Did you know...

Canada is the United States' largest source of imported crude oil - more than Saudi Arabia - or that Canada has the world's second largest proven oil reserves. Much of that oil is located in the Alberta oilsands, an area that contains at least 175 billion barrels of recoverable oil located under an area approximately the size of New York State.

Poll Results: Will Mike Harper Americanize Canada?

"By the Deaf people, for the Deaf people!"

Someone posted flyers in Ellingson Hall telling Deaf people to check this website out. The url is http://thedeafliberator.blogspot.com I posted a comment a while ago, but the people running this blog have not responded to my comment, instead they removed their articles of incorporation information and rephrased their objective.

I think this blog was created at the most appropriate time because I have been seeing a lot of "discussion" about reduced quality in Deaf education, how educational institutions are being "forced" into accepting financial support from organizations that promote "oral-method" as a better alternative for educating Deaf people.

I just think it is time for Deaf people to stand up and fight against those who discriminate or oppress the values Deaf people cherish.

There is a blog set up for people to discuss the dwindling education quality at RSD at: http://rsdeaf.blogspot.com/. I had a discussion with Xff earlier about how Deaf schools seem to not promote or advertise themselves and he explained that Deaf schools that receive Federal or State funding are prohibited from advertising themselves. I think this is absurd and crazy! This is how oral-method schools and mainstream are rising and Deaf schools are closing up.

We, the Deaf people need to find ways to raise funds and create (or improve) an organization that promotes Deaf schools and conducts research and development on technqiues for better education for Deaf people.

We cannot allow other Deaf people standing back and doing nothing about this type of "oppression". I am going to send an email to the people who set up this Deaf Liberation blog and see how I can join their movement.

The end of Rochester?

From the eighteenth day of the eighth month of the one thousand, nine hundred ninety-seventh year to the second day of the third month of the two thousand sixth year...

Is it officially the end of my life in Rochester?

Let's see... :)

Party Time:

This post is in honour of my Oma. During the upcoming few days it will be time to party hard for my family and relatives.

My Oma died at 7h30 yesterday, she was well over ninety years old so she got to enjoy a full ripe life! We will be partying on Thursday for a few hours and then partying hard on Friday to celebrate and honour her.

I am just glad she is no longer suffering in pain. I do not think she enjoyed her last few years and where ever she is, if God and heaven are real, I sure hope she is reunited with my Opa, if not then exalt Opa and her.

Note: We are partying hard, so I do not expect any sorrow from anyone.
