Are you a hearing wannabe?
If you are not proud to be Deaf, maybe you should go to this slope and hope your ears will pop and lower themselves to the level of hearing people.

The election has been completed. The great thing about the election is there is no confusion, once voting is done at 7 pm PST, the results were all set and we all knew the results immediately. :)
I could not vote becasue the mail-in ballot package arrived yesterday (January 23rd) and if I wanted to vote, the ballot had to be back before 7 pm on January 23rd. I take responsibility for the failure to get things done in time, however Ontario got the majority of Liberal votes so Ontario is a Liberal province.
The Conseratives (PC) lead Canada now as a minority government, meaning that they will have to make sure at least one or two other party supports their bills and proposals to get the necessary votes to get things done.
For those who are too lazy to look for the results, I have included a snapshot of the results for your convenience.

As you know, I love being part of the Deaf community and want to create a good Deaf community. Laurent, SD has my support, the Prince Edward Island Project also has my support too.
However, I do not believe EVERY Deaf person will want to relocate to be part of a Deaf community. There are many populated cities such as Washington DC, Rochester, Chicago, etc. These major cities have Deaf communities with a good number of Deaf people.
These cities also have other communities with people from different backgrounds, i.e. Italians, Chinese, Koreans, Middle East, etc. The difference I see between these people and Deaf people is that they have managed to create some kind of a little town within these cities, such as China Town or Italian Town.
Would it be cool if Deaf people worked together and supported a project that calls for the creation of a Deaf Town within major cities?

If you saw my winter quarter schedule, you know I am taking the Beers of the World course. This Monday we sampled eight different kinds of beer mostly from Beligum. I am guessing this class was one of my favourite class and do not think I will enjoy as many beer as I did that day.
There was one beer that I think several friends would love to sample,;I think I ranked it 3rd or 4th on my sampling list. The one I sampled had currant juice in it, it was very sweet and tasted very different than our typical beer because this type of beer (lambic beer) is brewed differently than traditional beer. Instead of using cultured yeast to ferment this type of beer, the brewery uses wild yest to ferment lambic beer.
I could go into all the details about the yeast, but to get to my point... I have several friends who "hate" beer, but want to drink booze similar to beer so they are limited to "hard cider" beverages; not only that I also have friends who like to drink beer that has fruit flavors, thus this is a beer for both types of friends to try out (also for women who do not like beer and are brave enough to try Beligan beer).
Last night I was in the mood for a cup of Lindemans Cassis Lambic beer so I stopped by the store, Beers of the Wold and found out that Lindemans makes lambic beer with other fruits too, black cherries, currants, peaches, and most of all... raspberries (is that the key word for you, buzzair?)

During our time snowboarding at Gore Mt., we stopped at some outdoor stores and I found a book that has information on backpacking trails in the high peak region. There are 46 peaks in the Adirondack State Park that are 4,000 feet (but some are not) and there is a club called the Adirondack 46ers where people have climbed all 46 high peaks in the park.
The book I have has very detailed information on trails and other stuff about the park, I hope to try and get a chance to do at least a two night trip before I leave for coop (if it is not in NYS).
The second book I bought is more basic, it covers a wider range of trails, including the other regions (the park is divided into six regions, the most popular region is the High Peaks region).
It has several two day backpacking trip, which also has suggested trails to make them longer or shorter.
Hopefully we can get a bunch of people together and go backpacking before or during the spring break (but it will still be cold down there, FrecklesFly and I went last year during the spring when it was "hot" in Rochester and found out that it was still "winter" there).

I am a proud Canadian and I plan to try and vote in Canada's 39th General Election. I have not decided who I will vote for yet, but I know I want to participate in Canada's political process.

On January second, FrecklesFly and I headed to a place near Chester, NY to get to Adirondack Pines to spend three nights and three days there snowboarding at Gore Mountain.
We got there around 16h and were greeted by the couple who ran the place, we immediately knew they were very friendly when we first met them. They were easy going people and had a lot of information about what we could do there.
The room they had was a cozy room with a very BIG king size bed and there was a two person jacuzzi tub that made the ending of each day after snowboarding perfect! They provided first class rated breakfasts:

We arrived at 227's place around 20h and found out that we were the first people to arrive. He and his girlfriend had some cookies and Asian finger foods ready. I made sure the hockey game was on, it was Canada versus America and when we arrived it was tied 2-2 I think.
Eventually we started drinking and then the game got tied again at 3-3 before America decided to take their goalie out of the net and Canada grabbed the opportunity to score and get the badly needed "bye" for the tournament. Canada eventually went on to beat Russia later to win the Gold Medal, America unfortunately did not win any medals.
After the hockey game was over, we decided to start playing some beer pong. FrecklesFly and I teamed up against 227 and his girlfriend. It was his girlfriend's first time to play beer pong. After our game, 233 and I teamed up and then Bradford and Brenana arrived so we played against 227 and Bradford with a bet that whoever loses would have to drink of shot glasses to match the number of cups remaining on the table. 227 and Bradford lost and there were two beer cups remaining so they had to drink two shots.
The countdown for NYE was kind of facked up, but we were watching the tube when it became midnight and celebrated with some champagne that 233 brought.
We stayed up until around 3h30 before declaring bed time. 233 had a bit too much to drink so he was woozy when he got up in the morning. :)

After returning back from Cuba, it was time to worry about celebrating the birthday of someone I never met before.
First I spent some time visiting CKBF and MDB. It was nice to catch up with them, especially with CKBF because I pretty much do not have the chance to talk or stay updated with what they are up to these days.
This year was much pretty much different than our traiditonal holiday because we pretty much used our money for Cuba, but most of us exchanged at least one or two gifts to each other, I got a nutrion calculator from my mother, but told her that I would probably never use it so she will return it, my father gave me a good blue button up shirt that fit me (usually when people buy clothes for me, they end up being exchanged, too small or too big, or never being worn).
My sister, brother and I decided to chip in together and buy my parents a coffee / expresso machine for them along with some videotapes (my mom loves to use the vcr to tape figure skating all the time) and coffee for them.
Our traditional "I-never-met-that-person" birthday evening dinner usually is mashed potatoes, red cabbage, grilled fish and some green vegetables, but this year my mother cooked something different, sea food lasgana along with casear salad and vegetables. I was willing to eat this dinner since I am more flexible with sea food.
On the day of "I-never-met-that-person" birthday, my mother's aunt and uncle came over and my mother cooked turkey for the carnivores and some kind of delicous roasted vegetable cassrole for my brother and me.
After that, we exchanged gifts, I got a pair of cool socks from GAP that had RIT's colours (dunno if my cousin and his wife looked up the colours of RIT before buying the socks) and a scarf, also from GAP from one of my cousin and his wife, my aunt and uncle gave me a water bottle from Eddie Bauer that was filled with first-aid kit stuff for camping.
After the "I-never-met-that-person" birthday celebrations passed by, I did not do much until December 28th when 197 and his wife came by, I joined them and stayed in London for two days, the first night spent the evening in the bar watching Team Canada play against Switzerland I think. Canada won that night then we headed back to 197's Castle.
The next day FrecklesFly came over to visit me and met us at 197's house in time for us to get ready to go out for lunch. We went to a nice restaurant recommended by my mother in London on Dundas street called Zen Garden. It had 100% vegetarian food along with some vegan choices. I was impressed with the variety of vegetarian sushi they had, way more choices than California Rolling, but I still do like California Rolling!
After that, we looked around in the Convet Market and White Oaks mall before gong back to 197's castle for dinner. We got in touch with Sir 233 and found out he was just passing my parents home so we gave him the directions to 197's house and we went shopping for pizza stuff to cook for dinner while 233 was on his way here.
After dinner, Sir 227 and his girlfriend came over to hang out and have several drinks. We had a good evening and I headed back to my parents home with FrecklesFly and 233. The next day we did absolutely nothing all day and played a few billard games late in the afternoon and decided to go back to London and visit CKBF for the night.
On December 31st, I decided that we would not sit and do nothing so I decided to take FrecklesFly and 233 out to show them my parents' cottage in Port Franks. The cottage looks good with new wood floors that my parents are currently installing now. The beach also looked different with the creek running along the entire beach and exiting from the north side. We decided to have lunch at Grog's and they had good chicken wings, poutine (in case you do not know what a poutine is, check this picture out), and garlic bread.
We stopped at the grocery store before heading home to get some finger food for 227's New Year Eve party. We had dinner and rested a little bit before going back to London...
