Adirondack Trails:
During our time snowboarding at Gore Mt., we stopped at some outdoor stores and I found a book that has information on backpacking trails in the high peak region. There are 46 peaks in the Adirondack State Park that are 4,000 feet (but some are not) and there is a club called the Adirondack 46ers where people have climbed all 46 high peaks in the park.
The book I have has very detailed information on trails and other stuff about the park, I hope to try and get a chance to do at least a two night trip before I leave for coop (if it is not in NYS).
The second book I bought is more basic, it covers a wider range of trails, including the other regions (the park is divided into six regions, the most popular region is the High Peaks region).
It has several two day backpacking trip, which also has suggested trails to make them longer or shorter.Hopefully we can get a bunch of people together and go backpacking before or during the spring break (but it will still be cold down there, FrecklesFly and I went last year during the spring when it was "hot" in Rochester and found out that it was still "winter" there).
