Web-based OS:

Many of my friends are using google and their services such as google talk, blogger, google mail, etc. One thing I love about Google's email service is that they successfully incorporated their google talk services into their web-based email interface system. This means I do not need to download and install their google talk software to be able to connect to other people who use google talk.

This has made me ponder what Google's ultimate goal is. What I have been able to come up with as a conclusion is... maybe Google's ultimate objective is to create some kind of "web-based" OS where they provide pretty much everything a regular installed PC OS or Mac OS provides.

This idea looks awesome to me! Imagine going to any computer that is connected to the Internet and knowing that everything you have is on the Internet so almost any computer will feel like it is already your computer (except for differences in monitor, keyboard, mouse, computer memory and processing speed.

Only contra I can think of is if Google's security is jeopardized, then your information and privacy could be jeopardized too.

ODSA Ball Hockey Tournament 2006:

Last weekend, I went to Ontario to transport my first load of stuff back home plus participate in the 2006 ball hockey tournament.

For the few nights that weekend I barely got enough sleep so it was a very demanding weekend because first I had to help FrecklesFly move out, then I had to pack up and stuff up half of my stuff in my car, plus do my final presentation for one of my course then drive all the way home. I was prepared to arrive at the tournament a bit before 8 am, however things changed and they needed everyone there at 7 am, it was approximately 2 1/2 hour drive to Scarborough from my home so I had to get up at 3:30 am (but snoozed till 4 am) then hit the road by 4:30 am and the road was fine until I passed Milton. The highway was all clogged with slush, sleet and snow plus those snow plowers.

I managed to get to the school by 7:30 am and found out that the game was supposed to start at 7:10, but was delayed because of other players plus the referees were late.

We finally started our first game at approximately 7:50 and played against TAD B, we beat them 4 - 2 after they almost beat us 2-1. The schedule was kind of facked up because our next game was at 11 am against LCD A so we had nothing to do until 11. Finally the time came up for us to play against LCD A, my team got ready and were already warming up when the referee decided we won by forfeit because LCD A did not show up. We found out that LCD A thought their next game was at the other school, I was kind of disappointed because I came to play hockey, not win by forfeits.

Our next game was against YPS and we beat them, but I cannot remember the score because we beat them by a high margin.

There were 13 men team, three pools and the teams in two pools only played three games while the teams in pool a played four games so there were some changes made to the tournament (which should have not been done since it was approved on Friday night at the coach's meeting). We ended up having to play against Ottawa from Pool B, we beat them 7 - 1 I think and the big shocker was before the tournament changes there were two Quebec teams who had no losses, but after their 4th games they lost and were ousted from the tournament!

My team was the only team from Pool B and C to have a 4-0 record so we went on to play against TAD A. We annihilated them badly and I finally got a goal in the tournament. The final score was 12 - 3! So obviously my team won the championship this year. :)

Hopefully there will be pictures up soon at www.ontariodeafsports.on.ca

Finance Management:

I was wondering if any of you have any recommended finance management software that I should try out? I am trying to find better finance management software to better set up my budgets, analyze my revenue/expenses and set up investments.

I used to have MS Money, but do not know where the cd that had the software is and currently have Quicken 2005, but thought it would not hut to ask if anyone else uses or has something different.

For those who respond with suggestions, thanks in advance!

History of Rochester: Tree Legacy

It was interesting to find out that the trees around Rochester helped prevent a British attack in 1813 and also since trees were plentiful around the area roads were ven built with lumber!

Black Flags for America:

Cuba unveiled a gift for the United States yesterday. The gift was a monument located in front of the United States mission in Havana. There are 138 black flags with white stars to honour the 3,400 Cuban people who were killed by American violent acts made against Cuba since the Cuban Revolution of 1959.

The America mission put up an illuminated broadcasting ticker on the building to broadcast human rights messages in Havana in an attempt to break Cuba's "information blockade". However the real terrorist is the United States because the country is providing a safe haven for a Cuban terrorist, Luis Posada (who is responsible for blowing up a Venzeulan - Cuban airliner, killing 73 people in 1976).

See the irony, the United States complains that the Talibans are protecting Osama bin Laden so they go in and blow up Afghansatain, now the United States is protecting Luis Posada. Does Cuba has the right to bomb the United States?

I think Cuba does.

Sushi:

Today I decided to do an experiment with sushi.

The facts:

Danny Wegman's Prepared Sushi

  • Price Range: USD$5.00 - 8.00 (yields 8 pieces)
  • Variety: Varies, Vegetables, Raw Seafood, & Cooked Seafood.
  • Location: Plenty of locations, approx. 5 min drive from RIT.
  • Quality: Good quality, if made immediately. Quality may not be best after sitting on display for a while, but eatable.
California Rollin's Prepared Sushi
  • Price Range: USD$15.00 (Sunday deal for 3 rolls, yields 24 pieces)
  • Variety: Wide variety of choices; many unique choices.
  • Location: Two, one near the Rochester-Toronto Ferry port, one at end of Goodman Ave. Approximately 15 - 20 min drive to Goodman Ave from RIT.
  • Quality: Good quality, but sometimes rice is packed too lightly and fluffy (probably ripping us off by lowering the quanitiy of rice to make more money).
China Buffet's Prepared Sushi
  • Price Range: USD$3.55/lb (take out; weekdays), USD$4.55 (take out; all day Sundays)
  • Variety: Limited variety, usually contains fish, fish eggs, imination crab. Limited veggie options.
  • Location: Four, Brockport, Rochester, Henrietta (serves sushi), and Webster (note: do not know if all serve sushi). Henrietta location at Jefferson Plaza is a 2.5 minute drive from RIT.
  • Quality: Varies, but would say quality was pretty good today, some were just as good as Danny Wegman's; other times their rice was packed too lightly and fluffy, sometimes more than California Rollin. Sushi still eatable, just acknowledge that the quality varies.
Results:

I went to China Buffet, stuffed up the dog box with ALL the sushi that was left on the sushi bar. There was still some space left so I threw in some french fries and two spring rolls. The grand total was USD$6.82. When I got home with FrecklesFly, I counted twenty-eight sushi pieces! Imagine that?! 28 piecs for less than USD$6.82!

The Winners:
  • China Buffet for best prices.
  • California Rollin for best variety.
  • Danny Wegman's for best quality.
The Losers:
  • China Buffet for lack of variety.
  • California Rollin for ripping off prices and location from RIT (have to factor in the cost of fuel used to get there and get back to RIT).
  • Danny Wegman's could not identify any valid complaints.
Now that you know you can get sushi for lower prices, and if you need judgement on variety, quality and location you can refer to my analysis. Please understand that your opinions (if you have any) may differ from my actual analysis.

Let's stop typing and/or reading and eat some sushi!

Badminton:

I am taking Badminton class to complete all my Physical Education requirements to graduate (they said I needed one more and told me just in time before I left school thinking I completed all the academic requirements, except for my remaining two coop terms).

All the P.E. courses that were available and fit my current schedule were wimpy ones, no active ones. The only one that seemed to have the most action was Badminton.

When I look at the word, badminton the first thought I have is "one of the most fag games" but unfortunately the other courses I had as options were faggier, thus forcing me to choose badminton.

If you had a look at my winter quarter schedule, you probably know that the class meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 11. The techniques that I have learned seem to have lame names, some moves may seem gay, however the sport gives you a good workout! Today not many students showed up and the student I was supposed to play against did not show up so the teacher made me play against her.

Finally I had someone who was experinced and probably would kill me (I have played against a lot of the other students and beat them except for one bad day I lost miserably against a guy that I beat twice).

To my shock, the teacher kind of sucked, the only good skill she has is making the birdie drop near the net, she could not smash or hit the birdie far away. So I easily beat her twice, 15 - 6 and 15 to 4. Bizarre eh?! Even though she was easy to beat, I became sweaty (more sweat today because I have a hangover from binge drinking last night). I guess I will withdraw badminton from bg0ur3 and my International Gay Database (IGDB).

Dumb Americans - That will do:

The U.S. troops in the Middle East keep on facking up! One or two years ago, they bombed a group of Canadians training in Afghanistan, killing seven I think. They also shot, wounded and killed some people travelling in an Italian convoy after rescuing an Italian hostage. Now they fire at the Canadian ambassador to Iraq.

Guess the next thing Canadian troops will be doing is shooting at allied citizens since Harper is going to Americanize Canada.

Sorry to badmouth America (my American friends are not like those American troops).
