Last Day:

Today is our last day of the fall break. I wanted to wish everyone a happy beleated thanksgiving.

I worked on getting most of my programs saved before formatting my computer and today I finally installed Win XP and Fedora Core 4 on my computer. Right now Win XP needs a trillion of updating to do, but once it is done I look forward using linux. I hope to abandon Microsoft someday soon. Other computer stuff I did was try to fix up FrecklesFly's computer and install Win XP so we could see if it solves her problems. Her computer kept on freezing and disconnecting from the internet. Hopefully things have been smoothen out on her computer.

On Monday, FrecklesFly and I went to my parents home for two days, Tuesday we went into Woodstock so FrecklesFly could submit her SIN application form and check out ODSP for me in case I end up having no job after I complete my studies for now... We also ended up visiting Mango Salad, a new Thai resturant in town, the waiter knew my parents and the person who renovated the restaurant was there so we kind of were treated with royality getting a couple of free India Iced Coffee and Mango juice and dessert. If you are ever in town, Mango Salad is a MUST for lunch or dinner!

For Thanksgiving, I joined FrecklesFly's family and headed off to a firehall near Watertown, NY to meet up with her brother's finance family for an afternoon dinner. Aftedr dinner, we spent time exploring the town's church and visiting her brother's finance's sister's place to relax and chat. We finally hit the road around 19h30 and approximately thirty to sixty minutes later, we hit a white out!

It felt so good riding in the snow and I wished I was driving instead of her father. We eventually got through the white out and got back home around 10:30.

We spent the last few days relaxing. On Friday FrecklesFly had to work and it took me only ten minutes to take her to work, but more than ten minutes to get out of the parking lot and that was at 5:45 am, yes in the morning! The parking lot was PACKED with idiot shoppers and they kept on preventing me from getting out of the parking lot because they kept on wanting to get in! I wonder if they ever realized that if they let me (and other cars) out they would have had more space to get into the parking lot? This was my first time in eight years to be up that early on Black Friday. I just do not understand why the stores need to cram all these discounts on the Friday after thanksgiving and create all these headaches and risky enviroment (on CNN I saw a woman trip and be trampled all over by other people rushing into a Wal*Mart store)!

Anyways, today is my last day before school starts, I have decorated my floor with snowmen from Calvin and Hobbes and need to check out SIS and add a PE course. We might go out for dinner at the Pita Pit before heading off to Regal to watch Harry Potter Part IV.

Cuba 2005! - Update #1

It has been confirmed, we are going to Cuba on Thursday December 15, 2005 at 6 in the morning. We will be departing from Toronto and going to

The resort we are staying at is
Brisas Santa Lucia, Camaguey, four star, all-inclusive. DEc 15, for seven nights. We are taking the risk with this resort because it was pretty cheap, the pictures looked nice, but the reviews got mixed reactions.

There were people complaining about the food, cockroaches in their rooms, sea weed on the beaches, and lousy service. BUT there were other people who attacked those cry-babies saying everything was good, but they agreed on the food. They all said there was a limited vary of food, but the best part was the pasta.

Since the tickets have been bought, I do not think my father can add more people to the trip. However, I do not mind working with those who want to go to Cuba for a week trip next year. If we have enough people interested, it will be a blast!

Cuba 2005!

My father contacted me a few days ago and expressed interest in going to Cuba again for the winter break.  I went to Cuba last year and Cuba was one of the best trip I ever took among the Americas (this may be biased because I have never been to another country in the Americas except Canada, USA and Cuba). I am currently looking at package deals for Cuba, we probably will depart sometime on or after the 15th day of December of 2005.  I am hoping some of my friends will join me so that there will be some Deaf people around (that does not mean my hearing family is no good).

For my fellow American friends who may consider joining me, I found this website with information for American tourists.  Read it and learn what rights you can exercise in a democratic and free country.

"George W. Bush doesn't want Americans to see Cuba.  Maybe he's worried they will return and ask: "how is it possible this blockaded and impoverished island can provide free health care and education for all," when Bush denies the same for his own people?"

The price ranges vary from CAD$1,000 to CAD$1,200 and we are looking for a good all inclusive four star resort, the location has not been determined yet.

Turkey & Gravy Flavoured Soda:

Check out Jones Soca Co. They are announcing some bizarre flavored sodas in time for Thanksgiving. You can purchase them at Target. It seems like the future of meals is becoming liquid.

Dinner @ TallWolf

Saturday, FrecklesFly and I were invited over to TallWolf's place for dinner along with Xff, Buzzair , his girlfriend and FrecklesFly's roommate. The food TallWolf cooked was fantastic! The most important thing you ought know about TallWolf is that he is a great cook! The dinner consisted of:

  • Spinach dip & bread
  • Sweet potato & marshmallows
  • Mushroom & green beans
  • Vegetarian lasagna
  • Stuffed bell peppers
  • Chicken breasts (for those who are carnivores)
I brought some spring rolls that I tried to make similar to ones made at one of the Asian restaurant we ate at a few weeks ago. After dinner we had a game of "Life". It was a nice evening, and an evening that worn everyone out a couple of hours before we planned capping off the night with a visit to Taco Bell.

Thanks TallWolf for a GREAT dinner!

McBoycott:

I love reading the news, I am pretty sure many of my blog readers would agree.  Today I came upon this article, I am not saying I agree with the main purpose behind the motivation that began this idea.

I have never really liked McDonald's, McDonald's (and the other fast food restaurants that try to beat McDonald's) is the "Walmart" of restaurants.  Let's participate with this movement on December 3rd, 2005.

Dugenics Corp.

I was just thinking of business opportunities and one idea came up today.  I am not into bioengineering or gentic engineering, but maybe setting one up that focuses on these industries and getting people who know more about this could be successful.

The corporation I was thinking of is:

Dugenics Corp.

The mission of this corporation shall be "Dugenics Corporation is where we do the study of hereditary improvement of the Deaf race by controlled selective breeding."

Let me know if you are interested or believe this business idea is feasible.  Once I get more people interested, we can work on the business plan and attracting investors.
