Canadian 39th General Election:

I am a proud Canadian and I plan to try and vote in Canada's 39th General Election. I have not decided who I will vote for yet, but I know I want to participate in Canada's political process.

I have a feeling that the results of this election will be another minority led government, but it might be the Conservatives this time. I love what the Liberals have done from 1993 - now, they have reduced Canada's debt and created record consecutive surpluses (even with financial scandals during Chretien's time).

However I feel that Canada needs a change, but who shall be responsible for the change? The Conservatives look good, but I do not want them to make Canada similar to America by going on a spending spree with tax breaks (ironically, the Conservatives are responsible for introducing the 8% GST during Mulroney's time) and destroying the efforts made by the Liberals to reduce Canada's debt and create consecutive annual deficits.

Right now, without doing much research, it seems like I am going to go with the Liberals. What are your thoughts? For those Canadians who are out of the country, you can go to the website and download forms to fill out and mail in your vote, do this before January 16th.

May the best person win Canada's 39th General Election!

I think I have decided to vote for the Liberals.

So far Canada is the only G7 country to report surpluses instead of deficts, the Liberals have helped reduce Canada's debt, and so far other than the scandal, everything has been going well in Canada...

If it ain't broken, why fix it?
